Why anti-establishment camp have not been able to capture regular Americans
Anti-establishment camp have uncountable evidences to show that the current establishment has so many problems. Even news reports from major media sources that are generally not critical enough should provide enough evidences to convince regular Americans that there are so many serious problems today. Yet anti-establishment camp have not been able to capture regular Americans; they have not been able to lead regular Americans to vote, donate to organizations like ACLU, Black Box Voting or The Brad Blog, march on streets or even just stay informed. The following is a blog written by one of anti-establishment camp, and here’s why I believe most of regular Americans are unenthusiastic about politics.
The vote in November will be stolen, again, as it has been in the past, in small ways that add up. Disenfranchising the voter in various ways has already begun. The main way will be purging the voter rolls. For an excellent explanation of this please go to Thomhartman.com and download the podcast dated 10-18-2006. He explains, with evidence and citations, that this is what they have already done in Ohio and 3 other states. The election will be stolen through that method and also hackable Diebold voting machines. These are widely known problems and it’s a fact that Diebold machines can be easily hacked in about a minute. Votes are flipped, the election outcome changed, and there is no way to check on it afterwards. They will do this in states where they don’t have a Mr. Blackwell, where they can’t get away with open and admitted voter fraud.
The claim itself is a legitimate claim, and this is actually well-documented. “Was the 2004 Election Stolen?” is a pretty comprehensive article, and the article gives a rough idea of what is going to happen this November. “Will The Next Election Be Hacked?” is also a good article on the subject. So, factually speaking, there is nothing outrageous about the claim. The problem, however, is that what is written is full of pessimism; there is barely any hope, and it almost sounds like that there is no point of doing anything about the problem because it will inevitably happen. There is more.
The Bush administration is way ahead of you — they have military law all set up. US Army Announces Readiness for Military Law. They have the Military Commissions Act - they can throw you in GITMO and never even tell you what you are charged with, and you will rot there forever. We allowed our representatives to kill off habeas corpus last week, sanction torture, and now there is no turning back. This is a major blow to our democracy.
Factually speaking, there is nothing outrageous about this claim, either. The Military Commissions Act can send anyone (any American) to a secret prison, and he/she can stay there forever without any trial. Similar bills were passed in the past, and many Americans ended up being sent to prisons without any reasonable justification, so The Military Commissions Act is a very concerning bill.
They may also put the dissenters in the detention camps that Halliburton has spent the last 4 years building. Yes - American Prison Camps Are on the Way. The rest of the country will be under a full martial law dictatorship. Welcome to America, December, 2006. Heil Bush and Cheney! It may or may not be too late to do anything about this. But when Nancy Pelosi and the other apologist were elected, that was mistake number 1. Mistake number 2 was repeating mistake #1. Congratulations voters - playing it safe with our candidates - ostracizing liberals, for example - has gotten us our very own fascist government.
Kellogg, Brown and Root has been building detention centers, and given how similar bills to The Military Commissions Act sent tens of thousands of Americans to detention centers in the past, it is reasonable to expect that something similar will happen again. However, the way in which these claims are made has a problem or two. These claims aren’t exactly alarms; they aren’t exactly warnings. They are pessimism. They are loss of hope. In other words, these are not messages of hope. They do not express any desire to change, improve or move forward. A similar thing can be said about others in Anti-establishment camp. Alex Jones, for example, is almost fearmongering. He is not spreading hope, prosperity or happiness. This is why regular Americans are not enthusiastic about politics at all. They do not find any motivation because anti-establishment camp are not guiding them to a bright future. Anti-establishment camp essentially suggest that United States of America is a country in decline (subconsciously). This is not the only reason, but this is definitely one of reasons why regular Americans are not galvanizing to move the country to a positive direction.
The outcome of November election is still unknown despite the fact that there will be number of election problems inevitably. However, anti-establishment camp need to get out of the state of pessimism, loss of hope and despair; otherwise, United States of America will be in decline.
With that said, the next election will be a very important election, so I decided to make a donation to Black Box Voting. I have to confess that my donation is rather small, but I hope that it counts for something.
(To Black Box Voting staffs,
Dude, buddy, girl, lady, you’ve got to make some impact.)
