Voices of Dissent?

There is a new documentary film released this year, and it’s called “America: From Freedom to Fascism” (Here’s a trailer). The film apparently argues that there is no law requiring US citizens and residents to pay income tax in US; the film also apparently argues that the government forces US citizens and residents to pay income tax in order to transform itself into a fascist government. I have not watched the entire film, so I do not know about the film in detail, but the trailer suggests that the film primarily argues these two points. I will probably watch the film at some point, but that’s another topic. I wanted to find more about this film, and I found a part of a video lecture given by Irwin Schiff. Irwin Schiff argues that there is no law requiring US citizens and residents to pay income tax in US, and he is apparently one of the core members of the group who argue this; Irwin Schiff also features in “America: From Freedom to Fascism”. The lecture is an interesting one, but I found out that he has been serving a 13-plus year prison term (for tax crimes) at the Federal Correctional Institution at Fort Dix, New Jersey.

There are number of other individuals who present unconventional arguments besides Irwin Schiff, and one of them is Mike Ruppert. He argues that CIA has been in drug trafficking business for decades now. He’s been publishing articles and books on the subject, and he’s been speaking about this around the nation as a public speaker; he also features in “America: From Freedom to Fascism”. I started reading his writings and watching his lectures recently, but I found out that he left US a couple of months ago.

In this life I have chosen not to die a martyr’s death. As I am learning every day, there are more difficult and demanding ways to write the final chapters of one’s life. I left the United States with one large suitcase, my laptop, and a backpack. I left behind my precious library, most of my clothing, my personal possessions, my guns, and a house full of furniture. I brought with me less than eight thousand dollars in cash and gold to start the final segment of my life.

On one hand, I wonder if they are just criminals or dropouts, but on the other hand, I realize that it is rather conventional that voices of dissent are often sent to prison, decide to leave their country for their safety or both. So are they today’s voices of dissent? Are they telling us what’s really happening today? Is income tax literally (not philosophically) a theft by US government? Is CIA really in drug tracking business?
